Dr. Spellen is a licensed naturopathic physician. She was born and raised in Atlanta, Ga and completed her undergraduate studies in biology and chemistry at Oakwood University in Huntsville, Al. Before deciding to attend Bastyr she worked for her local health department in the environmental health sector. In 2015 she graduated from Bastyr University with a doctorate degree in naturopathic medicine in Seattle, WA. While matriculating through Bastyr she completed special clinic rotations in community health and oncology and received extra training in craniosacral therapy, herbal medicine, nutritional IV therapy, and colon hydrotherapy. During her studies at Bastyr she became very passionate about social justice and now works with non-profit organizations to close health disparity gaps in the neighborhoods of south Seattle. She also volunteers as a physician every third Sunday of the month with the Muslim Community Resource Center Free Clinic in Redmond.
